Terms of Service
The terms below govern your access to and use of latestmodel.id (the “Service”). By calling the API or visiting the website, you agree to these terms.
Effective: 2026-05-09 · Operator: Rahul Verma ( @RahulVerma989 on X )
1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you (“you”) and Rahul Verma (“we,” “us,” or the “Operator”), the operator of latestmodel.id. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, in which case “you” refers to that organization.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
2. The Service
latestmodel.id is a hosted resolver that maps semantic tags (for example, smartest, cheapest, fastest) to live large-language-model (“LLM”) identifiers across third-party providers and aggregators. The Service exposes a public, unauthenticated HTTP API at /v1/* and a marketing website at https://latestmodel.id. All endpoints are read-only.
The Service is offered free of charge in its current form, on an “as-is” basis. We may add paid tiers in the future; if we do, that will be announced before any free-tier functionality is removed.
3. Proprietary Software & Data
latestmodel.id is proprietary software. The website, the resolver code, the dataset, the API contract, the documentation, the brand mark, and every other element of the Service are owned by the Operator and protected by copyright, trademark, and applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership in any of the foregoing.
You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
- query the public API endpoints and use the responses inside your own applications, subject to these Terms and the upstream providers' own terms;
- link to the website and reference the Service by name in technical or editorial contexts.
You are not granted the right to:
- copy, scrape, mirror, or redistribute the dataset (in whole or in substantial part);
- re-host the API under your own domain, white-label the Service, or hold it out as your own product;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code or model used to score and rank candidates;
- use the brand, logo, or wordmark in a way that suggests endorsement or partnership.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only in ways that are lawful and that do not:
- attempt to overwhelm the Service (e.g., volumetric attacks, scraping every model id at high frequency, or running automated jobs that intentionally bypass our cache headers);
- probe the Service for vulnerabilities without prior written permission;
- impersonate the Service or any provider listed by it, or otherwise deceive end users about the source of model recommendations;
- violate the terms of any upstream LLM provider you reach via a model id resolved through the Service;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
We may apply rate limits, IP blocks, or temporary suspensions if we detect behavior that appears to violate this section, with or without notice.
5. Source Data & Accuracy
Pricing, availability, capability, and benchmark numbers are sourced from the public documentation, pricing pages, and benchmark publications of each provider as of the date recorded in last_verified. We attempt to keep this current, but model prices and capabilities change without notice and we do not guarantee accuracy. Always confirm pricing with the upstream provider before relying on it commercially.
Resolved model ids are recommendations, not warranties. We have no control over upstream provider availability, deprecation timelines, content moderation, or output quality.
6. Third-Party Providers
The Service references and points to LLM providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Groq, DeepSeek, Mistral, etc.) and aggregators (OpenRouter, AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex, etc.). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies. All trademarks, service marks, and logos referenced on the Service belong to their respective owners and are used for nominative reference only.
Your use of any model id resolved through the Service is governed by the terms of the underlying provider you call, including their content, usage, and billing terms. We have no responsibility for that relationship.
7. Availability & Modifications
We aim for high availability but make no SLA commitment in this free-tier offering. The Service may be down for maintenance, hit transient errors, or change behavior with notice in our changelog. Edge-cached responses (typically s-maxage=300) help insulate your application from short outages.
We may modify or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. If we make a backwards-incompatible change to the public API, we will document it and, where practical, version the affected endpoint.
8. Disclaimers & Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, COMPLETE, OR THAT THE DATA RETURNED WILL MATCH ANY UPSTREAM PROVIDER'S CURRENT PRICING OR CAPABILITIES.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE OPERATOR BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS CAPPED AT THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM (TYPICALLY, ZERO) AND (b) USD 50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
10. Your Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Operator from any third-party claim, damage, loss, liability, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:
- your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or any law;
- your applications or services that consume model ids resolved through the Service;
- your handling of any output produced by an upstream LLM provider you call.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or are using the Service in a way that risks harm to other users, the Operator, or third parties. You may stop using the Service at any time; that constitutes termination on your end.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Sections 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13) will survive.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. The current version's effective date is shown at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected by bumping that date and, where appropriate, posting a note on the website or via the maintainer's X account. Your continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the competent courts of India, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction.
14. Miscellaneous
Entire agreement
These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and the Operator regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
No waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Assignment
You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, on notice to you.
